Booking Information!
We are excited to announce that booking information is now available below for many of the venues on our upcoming European Tour of To Begin the World Over Again: the Life of Thomas Paine written by and starring Ian Ruskin.
This is a vivid portrayal of the one truly radical Founding Father, a man who sparked the American Revolution, defined the French Revolution and called on us to use our ability to reason as the basis for our beliefs and morality. Were he here today, this man who detested slavery would be marching with Black Lives Matter. He would be fighting to protect the world’s most vulnerable citizens and for high quality universal health care in all countries. And he would be fighting voter suppression in all its forms. He was one of history’s true visionaries, greatest political writers and worst politicians, a dangerous and very nearly deadly combination.
This tour that will take Paine’s story from a Castle in Ireland to the UK Parliament to Paine’s actual classroom in Thetford. From the first two theatres that Ian worked in to Benjamin Franklin House where Franklin sat down with Paine to write the letters of recommendation that Paine carried to the Colonies. We are thrilled to have such a wide range of venues and are looking forward to the audiences that they will bring together. Spread the word, the world needs Paine today more than ever.
“Unmistakable topicality and human interest infuses To Begin the World Over Again… it is undeniably apropos for the corporatist-beleaguered present.” David C. Nichols, Los Angeles Times
“Ruskin’s Paine provides more than a mere history lesson; it’s a sort of performance art. Not only do we learn of largely untold slices of history, we get to see an actor in top form.” Ben Miles, showmag.com, Los Angeles
